Training Programs

The Brooks Basketball Academy approach to training is simple: We do what it takes to help players get better! Through the use of both traditional and nontraditional training methods, our programs challenge players of all ages and skill levels. By focusing on 10 KEY COMPETENCIES and explaining the importance of each, we are offering our players a competitive advantage--a true understanding of the game. In addition to skill development and basketball IQ, we strive to help our players build mental toughness, develop confidence and enhance their leadership abilities.

Listed below are the six programs offered to participants with short descriptions of each:


WEEKEND WARRIORS

Weekend Warriors is a 4-week training program for participants in Grades K-8. Workouts are held on Saturday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Players are separated into two groups based on skill level: Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced. The focus of this program is on teaching young athletes the fundamentals of the game to help build a solid foundation for years to come. Players will learn basic skills like footwork, dribbling, passing, shooting and playing defense. This program will also cover the basic rules of the game, key concepts, court layout and player positions.

GROUP HOOPS

Group Hoops is a 4-session training program for participants in Grades K-8. This program emphasizes skill development, mental conditioning and fitness control in an effort to develop well-rounded players. Comprehensive repetition of key drills will help players reach their peak levels of performance. Players will receive written evaluations on the first and last day of the program to track progress and identify focus areas for improvement. Participants are encouraged to train outside of BBA at least two times per week to truly maximize their experience.

FOCUS ON FUNDAMENTALS - AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM

Focus on FUNdamentals is a 10-week training program, offered to elementary schools in and around the Collin County area. Participants train in their school's gymnasium once per week for 75-minutes, immediately following regular school hours. The focus of this program is on teaching young athletes the fundamentals of the game to help build a solid foundation for years to come. Players will learn basic skills like footwork, dribbling, passing, shooting and playing defense. This program will also cover the basic rules of the game, key concepts, court layout and player positions.

Program Fee: $200 

Location: Collin County Elementary Schools

SOLO SOLUTIONS

Solo Solutions is for serious players seeking individual instruction to improve their games. Players will train in all disciplines of performance to accelerate individual development and on-court production. Through position-specific drills and advanced fundamentals, players will enhance their strengths and improve their weaknesses with the aid of customized workouts. There may not be an "i" in team, but every team needs a leader!

Dates: Appointments Only

Program Fee: $50 Per Hour 

Location: Parents Provide Location

This program is also open to high school and collegiate athletes.


TEAM TACTICS

Team Tactics is a program for teams of 5 or more players seeking to improve mental toughness, on-court communication, chemistry, and overall competitiveness. In addition to fundamental and advanced drill sequences, these sessions will also include game-simulation drills and scrimmages.

Dates: Appointments Only

Program Fee: $150 Per Hour*

Location: Team's Practice Facility

*If a team has more than 10 players, an additional fee will be incurred.

This program is also open to high school teams.
