Darren Brooks played Division I basketball at Southern Illinois University, where he became the first player in the history of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) to win both Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons. Brooks was also awarded MVC 1st Team All-Conference, All-Defensive Team, All-Tournament Team, and later earned a spot on the All-Centennial Team honoring the "50-Greatest" players. Brooks finished his college career in the Top 10 in scoring, wins, rebounds, assists, steals, and 3-pointers made. After graduating from SIU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Education, he went on to play in the NBA Summer League with the Dallas Mavericks and the NBA Development League in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After one season in the D-League, Brooks spent several years playing professional basketball overseas in top leagues in Germany, Australia, Puerto Rico, Poland and Cyprus. In 2011, Brooks was inducted into the SIU Hall of Fame for his achievements. In 2014, Brooks was honored again by his alma mater, becoming a member of the Men's Basketball All-Century Team.



Danielle Brooks has been an active contributor to Brooks Basketball Academy since its inception. As Darren's wife and life partner, Danielle has her hand in a bit of everything. She is specifically responsible for developing and implementing the company's marketing plan, assisting with any event planning that highlights BBA services and securing partnerships and sponsors for the organization. Outside of BBA, Danielle possesses more than ten years of progressive experience in driving strategic business growth and marketing initiatives for several companies in the retail and consumer goods industries--Michaels Stores, Macy's, Anheuser-Busch InBev and Caleres, specifically. Prior to starting her career, Danielle earned a B.S. degree in Marketing from Alabama A&M University and recently completed her M.B.A. program at St. Louis University's John Cook School of Business (2015).



Joe Green is currently the Assistant Head Coach at St. Mary's High School in St. Louis, MO. He also spent one year as the Assistant Head Coach at Career Academy and the Head Coach at Compton-Drew Middle School from 2007-2014. He led the 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team to a winning record of 100-8 over the course of six seasons. Green began his playing career in 1993 as a member of the Riverview Gardens High School Varsity Basketball Team where he played all four years. He moved on after high school to play at the collegiate level at Harris-Stowe State University from 1997-1999.
